Jawari Savatekayi/Dharwad special Cucumber is a special variety of cucumber available in very limited vegetations.

The cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is a widely-cultivated creeper plant in the family Cucurbitaceae that bears cylindrical to spherical fruits, which are used as culinary vegetables. Savatekayi are dark green with light green strips. These are crispy, free from bitter taste & excellent yielder. Having little less water content than the other commonly available variants, this type is very popular & suitable for curry making and table purpose. Also suitable for making Thalipeeth, Upavasa special Poha, Upama that are devoid of onion in restricted diet patterns. Also can be used with other raw vegetables for evening chaats with Chewda, churmuri etc.
